One of the smallest municipalities in the Haut-Saint-Laurent proved for a fourth consecutive year that it has a very strong sense of community.

The Elgin Neighbours’ Day, which is the main and only annual social event, took place this year on June 17, with a BBQ lunch provided by the exceptional culinary talents residing in the municipality.

Open to all Elginites as well as residents of neighbouring municipalities, the annual gathering kicked off with the traditional decorated bicycle parade from the Town Hall to Kelso Hall, where bouncy games, activities and lunch were waiting. Well over 100 residents participated in this year’s edition, which was sponsored by both Salaberry-Suroit MP, Anne Minh Thu Quach, and Huntingdon MNA, Stephane Billette.

The afternoon ended with a rousing tug-of-war between neighbours, who all appreciated the opportunity to come together in celebration of Elgin pride.
