As of last Friday, Ormstown citizens no longer have to boil their tap water before drinking it.

A new system of regulated chlorination, installed March 8,  ensures that treatment of pumped water complies with the rules set by the ministère de l’Environnement.

The boil water advisory has been in effect since October 3rd. Tests on water pumped from wells on rang Dumas indicated the presence of coliphages.

"It may have seemed to take a long time to restore our drinking water, but rest assured that all the necessary steps were taken as quickly as possible and in accordance with the existing laws," indicated the municipality through a press release. "We are also pleased that the $213 400 (+ taxes) budget was respected."
