P.E.I. Musician to Play at Ormstown’s Gigzz-Musique Resto

They’ve done it again—working with organization Home Routes, the Branches and Roots Concert Series effort has kept the music scene alive and well throughout out winter, bringing many diverse musicians to the Chateauguay Valley.
On Tuesday, April 19th at 8:00 P.M. Prince Edward Island-based musician Nudie will be playing at Gigzz-Musique Resto in Ormstown. He’ll be sharing music from his latest effort Everything’s Different In The Night (out April 22), recorded in Peterborough, Ontario alongside co-producer James McKenty (Blue Rodeo). If you haven’t heard of the talented musician, you can refer to the words of CBC’s Bob Mersereau, who described Nudie’s music as “…one of the best of the new crop of country purists. A gem that blends all the classic sounds of real country music, but never feels old and out of fashion.”
First inspired by the guitar playing (on a logo Gibson J45 guitar, to be exact) of his Uncle Jack, singer Nudie was drawn to music as a young child. “Seeing Buck Owens and Don Rich, and hearing my uncle pick and sing is where the seeds of my love of all things heartbreak and twang started,” explains Nudie. Performing at festivals across North America, Nudie has also showcased at Folk Alliance, Folk Music Ontario and Americana Music Conferences. Shadowing Willie Nelson on his cross-Canada tour was also a huge highlight for the artist.
Admission is $15. For more information on Nudie’s show or to make a reservation, call 450-829-3463.
