Eighth Annual Rudolph Run in Ormstown

Emily Southwood -
For the eighth consecutive year, The Rudolph Run will set out from Ormstown on Saturday, November 25th at 9am.
Each year since the outset of this tradition, more than 200 participants have donned something red or green and walked or run to support local charities in a fun, family-spirited event. This year’s mission is to raise funds for local Christmas baskets and hopefully top last year’s contribution to the community of an impressive $2980. This year, participants will also have the opportunity to win the best costume contest, which will be held by a popular vote on Facebook.
In addition to the traditional holiday run, organizers have also planned a sold-out training session with local trainer Gilles Cloutier on Wednesday November 22nd. The work out night is also a fundraising effort with 80 people registered. Organizer Darlene Legros Schmid is thrilled with the community support, “We have many volunteers and of course without them we could not make the day a success. Tell your friends to come to the run, everyone is welcome!”

At the run a minimum donation of $5 per adult is requested and all monies go towards filling Christmas baskets for local families in need. Dig out your Santa hat or antlers to come support the popular event on Saturday, November 25th, at the Ormstown Rec Centre, 87 Roy Street. Participants can run or walk the 1km, 2km and or 5km courses through the streets of Ormstown. The 10 km course is for running only. Registration starts at 8h00. Departures begin at 9h00.
