On April 29th, Howick’s Beausoleil Stables will host a one-day dressage clinic with renowned local equestrian Roberta Morris. Morris is best known as a member of the Canadian Dressage Equestrian Team that won a silver medal in the 2011 Pan Am Games. Dressage, often referred to as ballet on horseback, demonstrates a series of precision movements and the connection between horse and rider.

Saturday’s event will be the first clinic hosted by Brigitte Beausoleil, who has been training local riders since 1994. Brigitte holds her FEQ Level Two Western Certification and is passionate about training hunters and jumpers. “The timing for the clinic was perfect with my newly constructed arena,” she says. “The goal in hosting Roberta is for riders to improve their flat work. Great equitation makes great jumps.”

The day will run from 8:30am to 4:30pm, with two riders participating in each hour-long lesson. Each rider will receive personal instruction from Roberta Morris. Spectators are welcome for a fee of $15, which includes lunch. The clinic will take place at 1488 Route 138 in Howick. For more information see Écurie Beausoleil Stables on Facebook.
