Recognized throughout the country for his ability to separate sense from nonsense while demystifying science, Dr. Joe Schwarcz, the Director of McGill University’s “Office for Science and Society,” will be speaking at the Georgetown Presbyterian Church in Howick on Thursday, September 7.

The host of "The Dr. Joe Show" on Montreal radio, Dr. Schwarcz is well known for his informative and thoroughly entertaining public lectures and presentations on topics ranging from the chemistry of love to the science of aging. The recipient of numerous awards for teaching chemistry and for his interpretations of science for the public, he is a popular guest on television and has authored 16 best seller books. An amateur conjurer, there is also a very good chance his presentation may be spiced with a little magic here and there.

For those interested in attending the event, there are no tickets. Rather there will be a freewill offering. All are invited to come, bring a friend and any science-related questions you may have had lingering in the back of your mind. Dr. Schwarcz will begin his presentation at 7:30 pm.
