After a rainy 2017 summer, the CVAA welcomed a beautiful August weekend for their very well attended 32nd edition of the Antique Show and Antique Tractor Pull.

The charming Rennie property welcomed over 4000 guests on Saturday, August 26th to enjoy flea markets, antique car and tractor displays, tractor pulls, food, music and much more. Sunday was also very busy as many came out to celebrate Haut Saint Laurent cultural history and have good old time.

This much-beloved annual Chateauguay Valley tradition honors the late Leslie Rennie who passionately collected antiques and preserved history by moving several historical landmarks to his property. The grounds, which boast a vintage schoolhouse, church and general store, remain in the Rennie family and welcome guests from near and far annually. A dedicated committee of volunteers from the Chateauguay Valley’s Antique Association (CVAA) works all year to host this cultural event on the historical property. The mission of the CVAA is to educate and to preserve our cultural history and agricultural past.

This year’s event did not disappoint with many treasures to be found and spectacles to admire. Line dancers swayed to live country music as families enjoyed food and beverage from many favorite local vendors, with numerous culinary highlights including pulled pork sandwiches, apple doughnuts, and sweet local corn. Many lined up on hay bales to cheer on contestants to their wins in the antique and lawn tractor pulls and to watch the Parade of Tractors. Huntingdon Local Barry Maither drove the lawn tractor barrel train around the property to the delight of many children. He commented that the grounds were so packed on Saturday that, “It was hard to maneuver the crowd!”

As the property clears after a busy weekend, the hardworking volunteers will set their sights on another excellent Antique Show and Antique Tractor Pull in 2018. For more information on this and other events run by the CVAA, as well as details on membership, visit www. cvantiqueassociaation.com.
