Two young men arrested in Huntingdon

Two 23 year old men were arreseted on the night of Thursday June 11 in Huntingdon for thefts committed in the area and a break of commitment.

One of the two suspects who was apprehended is also wanted by Cornwall police in connection with some of their open case files. In this case, he was arrested with his accomplice for having committed two thefts from parked cars and also a bicycle theft reported Sergeant Lamontagne of the SQ.

The two men were on foot when they were apprehended by officers from the SQ. For some time the agents have increased presence in the area due to the numerous thefts from cars at night.

After they committed these crimes the two suspects were chased by officers. A short foot chase took place on Lake Street and two Huntigdon residents were arrested reported Sergeant Lamontagne.

The duo appeared at the Palais de justice de Salaberry-de-Valleyfield on Thursday June 11 and faced accusations of thefts less than $5,000 and for obstructing police business. One of the two will face charges for his breach of conditions.

The individual that is of interest to Ontario police should have at all times been at his residence in Torono where the judge had forced him to remain. He had a curfew to respect explained Sergeant Lamontagne.
