Fans of chamber music in the Valley will have the opportunity to hear members of the award-winning Milton String Quartet on Saturday, April 21, at Grove Hall, with a program including works by Mozart, Beethoven, and Dvořák. The members of the Milton String Quartet, including Roman Fraser (violin), Justin Almazan (viola), Joshua Morris (cello), will be joined for their concert in Huntingdon by pianist Meagan Milatz. All studying at McGill University in Montreal, the four are gifted young musicians with significant accomplishments and numerous awards to their names. This is a concert not to be missed for those interested in classical music. Most recently, the Milton String Quartet won the Grand Prize and Senior String Division Gold Medal at the 44th Annual Fischoff Competition, which is the largest chamber music competition of its kind in the world. Each year, the competition sees an average of 125 ensembles participate, representing 22 nationalities. The ensemble was also recently featured on CBC Music’s list of 30 hot Canadian classical musicians under 30, as well as Montreal’s 10 emerging acts to watch. The concert at Grove Hall on April 21 will start at 8 pm. More detailed information on the musicians, as well as the possibility of reserving tickets, can be found on the Grove Hall website at www.grovehall.ca.
