The MNA for Huntingdon and Minister for Small and Medium Enterprises, Stéphane Billette, will sponsor Hemmingford Elementary School, of the New Frontiers School Board, as part of his participation in the 1000 km event of the Grand défi Pierre Lavoie 2018. Since the beginning of his participation in the Grand défi Pierre Lavoie, the MNA for Huntingdon has offered more than $100,000 to raise awareness amongst elementary school students of the importance in adopting healthy lifestyles and to promote physical activity among youth and their families. This will be the sixth participation of MNA Billette in the Grand défi Pierre Lavoie, which consists of a 1000 kilometer bike ride in 60 hours between Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean and the Montréal Olympic Stadium. The start of this 10th annual edition will begin in Saguenay on June 14th and will end in Montréal on June 17th. Mr. Billette will be part of the National Assembly team, which also includes MNA’s François Bonnardel, Sylvain Pagé, Alexandre Cloutier and Sébastien Schneeberger. The MNA Stéphane Billette invites the population to make a donation. The donations will be used to support projects that promote healthy life styles and research into hereditary orphan diseases. To contribute, all you need to do is: -Issue a check or money order payable to "Go Le Grand défi” and mail it to 528, rue Frontière, Hemmingford, J0L 1H0; -Or contribute directly online on the site www.legdpl.com by selecting your type of donator (personal or corporate); the team « ASSEMBLÉE NATIONALE » and finally donate to a specific member: « STÉPHANE BILLETTE » "Each year, I am very excited to take up the 1000 km challenge of the Grand défi Pierre Lavoie, because I know that it has a real impact on the promotion of healthy lifestyles and the promotion of activity for youth in the riding of Huntingdon, but also for the youth from all regions of Quebec. During the entire 1000 km, I think of the school I am sponsoring and those that I sponsored in the past and I am proud to know that the money raised goes to the realization of projects beneficial to all students. I am convinced that Hemmingford Elementary School will create a great project, within their image, thanks to this 1000 km bike ride.” (Press release)
