The House of Commons MP for Salaberry-Suroît, Anne Minh-Thu Quach, has just been awarded new responsibilities within the New Democratic Party. On Monday, new party leader, Jagmeet Singh, announced Quach's appointment as Critic for Youth, Post-Secondary Education and Deputy Critic for Gender Equality for the NDP progressive opposition. "It's an honour to continue holding the government to account, especially in proposing constructive action on youth and post-secondary education," commented Quach. "These are important issues that I care a great deal about given that economic inequality is growing and directly impacts youth," she asserted. Quach also said she was proud to support her colleague, Sheila Malcolmson, as Deputy Critic for Gender Equality, particularly within the context of the movements against sexual harassment and in favour of pay equity (#metoo and #timesup). In closing, the MP for Salaberry-Suroît emphasized that the NDP team is also strengthened by the fact that Ruth Ellen Brosseau will be parliamentary leader in the Commons and Deputy Alexandre Boulerice will be Environment Critic for the party.
