The MRC du Haut-Saint-Laurent will be welcoming Saint-Chrysostome artist, Audrée Bourdeau, and her new exhibition entitled ‘Fascinant”, to the Alfred Langevin Cultural Hall in Huntingdon throughout the month of March as part of the eighth edition of the TRACE project to promote young artists from across the region. The TRACE project (Traquer la Relève Artistique et Culturelle Émergente) will once again be presenting the work of four talented young artists from across the Vallée-du-Haut-Saint-Laurent in partnering gallery spaces, including the Alfred Langevin Cultural Hall in Huntingdon, the MUSO (Musée de Société des Deux-Rives) in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, and the Maison Trestler as well as the Musée regional de Vaudreuil-Soulanges in Vaudreuil-Dorion. For an eighth year, this innovative project will once again work to contribute to the improvement of the socio-professional conditions facing these young artists as well as the difficulties they may encounter in finding exhibition spaces and recognition within and by the regional cultural com-munity. As a talented young artists from Saint-Chrysostome, Audrée Bourdeau has already exhibited her work at the Musée regional de Vaudreuil-Soulanges as part of the 2017 cohort for the project. As a perfect example of a young artist who has achieved a certain level of success in this region, she was invited exhibit this year as well. A local success story Audrée has been painting since 2005, following her training in visual arts at the Cégep du Vieux-Montreal. She makes use of a varied colour palette, as well as glazes and multiple layers, to complete her work, which is painted mainly on canvas. In 2012, she discovered an interest in face painting and is currently working to develop this self-taught aspect of her art. Committed and persevering, her creative spirit allows her to encourage people to come together around her creative and cultural projects that encourage contemplation on the part of her audience. Audrée is an example of per-severance and we are very happy to present her work here this year,” says Nancy Brunelle, the Coordinator for the Alfred-Langevin Cultural Hall. The vernissage for “Fascinant” will take place on March 4, at 2 pm, at the Alfred Langevin Cul-tural Hall.
