Anne Minh-Thu Quach confident as elections approach

A few months away from the federal elections, Beauharnois-Salaberry MP Ann Minh-Thu Quach believes more than ever that it is possible that the New Democratic Party (NDP) will form the next government.

According to the MP, the efforts displayed by her party, as well as the work accomplished by the NDP elected officials are bearing fruit. “Last month, we succeeded in defeating the Conservatives in Alberta where they had been elected in that province for more than 40 years. The population is now ready for a progressive government,” announces Quach to demonstrate the confidence that engulfs her.

The woman who is soliciting a second mandate gets angry when she speaks of the current government. Moreover, she is not shy to say that her opponents are showing no respect for democracy. “The Conservative Party reigns through fear. For them, there is only wealth which is important. I find it deplorable that they continually attack the middle class.”

Still in the same vein, Quach knows that the campaign to come will pit her against strong adversaries. Robert Sauve will defend the Liberal Party colours and Claude DeBellefeuille, the riding’s former MP, recently announced her return to the political arena, still with the Bloc Quebecois.

“I am confident. If the Bloc Quebecois had Gilles Duceppe, Sylvain Gaudreault and Mario Beaulieu come here, it’s because they know that I’m doing a good job in the region. They have the figures and they know this race will not be won by Mrs. DeBellefeuille.”

The 2015 federal election is slated for October 19, 2015 in order to elect the 42nd legislation of the Canadian Parliament. On the occasion of this election, the number of seats in the House of Commons will rise from 308 to 338.
